Nearly four months after getting the Covid-19 coronavirus, the Utah Jazz Center at the National Basketball Association (NBA) team has not fully recovered.

Gober was the first NBA player to fall ill with Covid-19 when he found the virus on March 12. The agitation was triggered by his actions a few days before he fell ill, as Gober demonstratively touched many objects there at a press conference, mocking the seriousness of the coronavirus.

After that, Jazz leader Donovan Michel became ill with the virus and was deeply disappointed in Gober’s actions. The French center later apologized publicly, but the relationship between the two Jazz leaders was still quite bad for some time, and it is unknown whether it has improved.

Earlier, there were rumors that Gober or Mitchell could be replaced by another team in order not to exacerbate the conflict. However, Tony Jones, a reviewer at The Athletic, denied the information.

Although Gober was told by doctors that he had contracted the virus, the basketball player still has some side effects.

For the French media, L’Equipe Gober revealed that he was still not completely healthy. The Frenchman had previously lost his sense of taste and smell. “I feel the taste again, but with the smell everything is not 100% in order. I can only smell the scent that is close to me, but I cannot smell the one that is further away from me. I talked to the doctors and I was told that it could take a year. ”

“A month and a half ago, I encountered strange feelings that scared me and some of them still haven’t resigned,” Gober, 28, continued. “I have never spent so long without playing basketball. I have started individual training, but I have not played basketball five to five yet. I go to boxing classes, as well as swim and run in the mountains. ”

“The NBA was waiting for the first case of the coronavirus, and it turned out to be me,” said the Frenchman. “For Americans, I became the beginning of the viral image and domino effect, which led to the tournament being canceled. However, I was not the one to bring the virus to the United States. ”

Gobers has stood out in 62 matches this season with an average of 15.1 points and 13.7 rebounds. He is the only player on the Utah team to have an average of “double-double”.

The NBA season will resume on July 31 and end on October 12 at the latest. There is also a worst-case scenario, which has also been confirmed by the league commissioner Adam Silvers, namely, if another big virus outbreak follows, the season will be canceled completely. The management of the NBA feels comfortable in the current situation.
