AC Milan Wins, Paolo Maldini: Gianluigi Donnarumma The Best Goalkeeper in the World!

Donnarumma displayed consistency in performance after the COVID-19 pause, helping the Rossoneri to be unbeaten in Serie A.

Paolo Maldini believes Gianluigi Donnarumma is the best goalkeeper in the world and AC Milan are trying to defend it.

Donnarumma established himself as the number one goalkeeper at his childhood club, the Rossoneri, since making his debut at the age of 16 in 2015. But since then too, his future has continued to be a subject of transfer speculation.

Some top clubs such as Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea have been linked with the Italian national team player, whose contract will expire in 2021 and make Milan continue to try to update it.

Maldini, as Milan’s technical director, praised the quality of Donnarumma who helped bring his team to maintain a positive trend by winning 2-0 over AS Roma in Serie A on Monday (6/29) early morning hrs, at the San Siro.

“It is definitely the task of Milan to try and retain important players like Gigio, for what they represent as symbols, a player who is mentas from the club academy and, according to me, because he is the best goalkeeper in the world,” Maldini told DAZN.

Last March, when asked about his future at Milan, Donnarumma insisted he had a special relationship with the club.

“The color of the Rossoneri’s greatness means a lot to me, because I am here here,” said the 21-year-old in a question and answer session via the club’s official channel.

“I have always been a Milan fan and I always try to give my best for this jersey.”

“The first target I shared with the club was one that we had set ourselves at the start of the season.”
