96 coach Kocak feels with failed HSV: “Some laugh and others cry”

The spectacular season finale for third place and the relegation place even captured 96 coach Kenan Kocak. After the 1: 5 bankruptcy of Hamburger SV against SV Sandhausen, the ex-SVS coach found moving words – for all colleagues. The failed Hamburg with the former 96 coach Dieter Hecking and the relegation Heidenheim (despite 0-3 defeat in Bielefeld) with his friend Frank Schmidt.

“I can understand the feelings in Hamburg and Heidenheim,” said Kocak, “I can also understand the feelings in Sandhausen.” Kocak was sympathetic: “There will always be weekends when some laugh and others cry. That is our job, we have to cope with these experiences. ”

After a job in Hanover, Kocak was somehow glad that he could prevent the worst at Hanover 96: “When I came here, we were in a difficult situation. We have stabilized and were able to prevent the super meltdown. ”

Kocak managed to lead 96 from the relegation battle to safe areas, especially after the Corona break, the Reds played much more stable. The season ended the Kocak team in sixth place – and in the end was almost within striking distance of the third from Heidenheim, seven points behind.
