Major League Soccer (MLS) makes a comeback after the virus break with a tournament for all 26 clubs at ESPN’s sports complex in Orlando, Florida. Start is July 9.
A week or so before it all starts up again, the league said in a statement that a total of 20 players and six club members have tested positive for the coronavirus.
A total of 668 players have been tested since the clubs began training fully on June 4.
“Anyone who tests positive must, while in Orlando, participate in an assessment of a health professional and be moved to an isolation area until he or she receives medical approval, the league writes.
Ronny Deila’s New York City meets Jakob Glesnes’ Philadelphia Union on Thursday, July 9 at 3 pm. Ola Kamara and his DC United play against Toronto FC two days later in their first match, while Adama Diomanes LAFC meets the Houston Dynamo on July 14.
