Frei also dominated the competition in this championship. The Basler was top scorer with 24 goals and had eleven goals more than his first chase. This time he relegated teammate Marco Streller to second place. On May 12, 2012, Frei received a 300 FCB shirt for his 300th career goal.

19 strikers were enough for GC striker Shkelzen Gashi to be top scorer in 2013/14 – 6 goals more than Valentin Stocker (FCB), Caio (GC) and Mario Gavranovic (FCZ) had scored. They only got 13 goals each.

YB (6-0) against Xamax needed just 8 minutes and 10 seconds for four goals. From the 37th minute, Michel Aebischer, Christian Fassnacht and twice Jean-Pierre Nsame met for the fastest set of four in the Super League. It was already the fifth doublette of the 27-year-old in the current season alongside two hat tricks against Sion last November and against FCZ. With goals number 22 and 23 (in 24 appearances) against Xamax, Nsame increased his personal goal yield after 26 rounds.

In December the attacker took a short break and was without a hit. For this, he reported back in the second half of the season more accurate. The long corona break and ghost games could not harm him. In seven games after the winter break, the French-Cameroonian citizen scored eight goals. On the Super-League-Rekord from Seydou Doumbia out of season 2009/10 with 30 goals fNsame only choose seven hits.

The YB striker has long since rushed from the competition. Cedric Itten was the first chaser with 11 fewer hits. Alex Frei recently left the competition so clearly eight years ago.

The former FCB striker and Nati’s record-breaking goal scorer won the league title of top league scorer twice in the 2011/12 and 2010/11 seasons. At the end of each championship, his lead over the first pursuer was eleven goals (in the picture above). And Nsame still have ten game days to expand their lead.

Modest after the game

When asked about his marksmanship, Nsame kept the ball flat at Teleclub and only said that he always tried to do his best and that his quota was not possible without his colleagues. The most important thing is to do a good job as a striker. And he remains similarly humble in the interview on the club website.

«I am lucky to have strong players around me. I extremely benefit from their templates. Of course I try to position myself accordingly. The more often I meet, the greater my self-confidence. » And the interest in him abroad.

Nesame change requests

Nsame is contractually bound to the Young Boys until 2023. If he continues in this style, he will hardly meet it – especially since he leads the scorers list with his numbers like no other in Europe’s highest leagues:

In the same interview, Nsame makes no secret of his career plans. «There are already wishes and plans, but I keep them to myself. Switzerland is wonderful, and I feel very comfortable with YB. However, I do not expect it to be the last country in which I will work as a professional. I don’t want to close a door, but I also hope that the ideal one will open.»
