Neymar has told Paris Saint-Germain’s president Nasser Al-Khelaifi that he wants to join Barcelona, according to reports in Spain.
The Brazilian has spent two seasons in France following his world-record £200 million move from Barcelona in August 2017.
But the 27-year-old is unhappy at PSG and is keen on a return to to Camp Nou.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Neymar has now personally told Al-Khelaifi about his desire to move back to Barcelona.
The report claims that the Brazilian bluntly told PSG’s president: ‘I do not want to play for PSG anymore. I want to go back home, where I should have never left.’
It’s also claimed that PSG coach Thomas Tuchel would be open to Neymar’s exit as he is ‘fed up’ with the problems the player causes in the dressing room.
Speaking earlier this week, Al-Khelaifi opened the door for Neymar’s departure for the first time.
‘I want players willing to give everything to defend the honour of the jersey and to join the club project,’ Al-Khelaifi told France Football.
‘Those who do not want that, or do not understand, we will meet and we will talk to each other.
‘Nobody forced him to sign here. Nobody pushed him.
‘He came knowingly to join a project.’
