News from Man Utd: Real Madrid prepares for the arrival of Jose Mourinho by lining up Assistant Manager - Express in a row

Mourinho, manager of Manchester United, is tied to Real Madrid, although the La Liga giants recently appointed Santiago Solari as manager.

Mourinho spent three mixed years at Real Madrid between 2010 and 2013, breaking out against Sergio Ramos, Cristiano Ronaldo and Iker Casillas, while also winning the Copa del Rey and La Liga titles.

Manchester United are currently struggling with Jose Mourinho, who has always had close ties to Los Blancos president Florentino Perez.

And Spanish outlet company Ok Diario claims that Real Madrid is making plans for its sensational return.

Under Solari, the results have improved.

But Perez believes the club needs some organization, and under Mourinho they would bring a coach capable of keeping their players in line.

He wanted Antonio Conte to replace Julen Lopetegui in October, but eventually decided to give Solari the job.

However, with regard to Mourinho and the hierarchy of Real Madrid, it would not be a problem to greet him again.

Ok Diario claims Real wants Xabi to be Alonso Mourinho's number 2 should he leave United at the end of the season.

For the moment, the Red Devils are adamant, they support their manager.

However, history suggests that Mourinho's head will roll if he does not manage to get her into the top four.

David Moyes paid the price for failing to qualify for the 2014 Champions League qualifiers.

It was similar with Louis van Gaal two years later – although the Dutchman won the FA Cup.

Alonso could be the ideal assistant for Mourinho.

The Spanish international is said to be a dream choice to act as an intermediary between the coaches and the players.

This could be a way to combat Mourinho's own abrasion behavior.

But only time will tell if Real can lure the United boss back to Bernabeu.
