Man Utd News: Mourinho wants to claim Woodward's decision to return Moyes on shock, Zidane's job

Man Utd boss Mourinho wants Woodward's decision

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho wants Ed Woodward to change his mind about a deal for Ivan Perisic, according to reports.

The manager of the Red Devils should lure the Croatian international to Old Trafford this summer to compensate for his attack – only for Woodward to block a possible transfer.

Manchester United hold tight to Anthony Martial, but the mirror says that Mourinho would like to stamp a rubber swap deal.

However, Woodward is unlikely to change his mind because he thinks Perisic, at the age of 29, is a deal that makes little sense from a business perspective.

Moyes at shock return

David Moyes has opened the door to a sensational return as Manchester United, admitting that he would still take the job if it were offered – at a time when Jose Mourinho's position is hidden in uncertainty.

"In hindsight, people think it was the wrong time, but the opportunity was one I had to take," he said.

"Nobody gets the United job without success and that came from my 11 years with Everton.

"If I offered the same thing today, I would say yes.

"I enjoyed my time but would have liked more to turn things around.

"This team had to be developed further, but in ten months it was not possible.

"I do not care which manager came after Sir Alex Ferguson, I think they found the same difficulties.

"People would say guarding Sir Alex could not be good, but I thought the opposite, both he and David Gill were really supportive.

"But I know we're dealing with results – and I did not get enough of that."

Zidane job offer

Zinedine Zidane will not accept the job of Manchester United because he does not speak English.

This says Steve McManaman, who said Caught Offside, "I think the connection is sinister, to be honest.

"Yes, he is available, of course he is, and Manchester United is a great job, but I think people will put two and two together and come up with something.

"He does not speak English, Zizou … I would not believe that there is still a connection."
