A great honor to baseball greats from Drew Brees

In preparation for his playoff game which kicks off late Sunday afternoon, Drew Brees has thought of honoring some big names in baseball history. The New Orleans Saints quarterback will sport the faces of three players who have marked the imagination of ball fans over the years.

As can be seen from the photos that the official account of the Saints published a few hours before their match wildcard, Brees will take the field with the faces of Ken Griffey Jr., Satchel Paige and Nolan Ryan on his feet.

Griffey Jr., a graceful and explosive outfielder, has probably possessed the most beautiful swing in the history of major league baseball.

A ruthless right-handed pitcher, Ryan terrorized opposing hitters during a career that spanned no less than 27 years.

Paige, also a right-handed pitcher, is a legend with the Negro Leagues, an organization whose statistics are now officially recognized by the MLB as being legitimate and an integral part of baseball history.

These three men are all in the Baseball Hall of Fame. They were inducted into Cooperstown in 1971 (Paige), 1999 (Ryan) and 2016 (Griffey Jr.), respectively.
