“I was called by four pre-candidates concerned about this issue. I told them to take joint action or, if not, to contact the club’s electoral board, which is the one calling the elections,” Rousaud explained.
Espai Barça will not take place without the ratification of the members
The businessman has presented his board in the run-up to the Barça presidential election. In an event at the Pompeii Tennis Club, of which Josep Maria Minguella is the president, the pre-candidate has given names and surnames to the different members of its board. “Our pre-candidacy is made up of a group of people who have the capacity, values and commitment to take on this challenge,” he explained.
The incorporation of Josep Maria Minguella as sports vice-president is joined by Maria Rosa Buxarrais, professor at the Faculty of Education of the University of Barcelona; the architect Luis Alonso; the economist Elena Viader; businessman Gregori Salas; the traumatologist Miquel Llobet; the entrepreneur from the world of communication Álvaro Montoliu; the tax lawyer Joan Pons; the real estate developer Carlos Malo; the businessman Guillem Folch; sports management specialist Xavier Gomis; the restaurateur Elisabet Cerezo and the president of Sport Cultura Barcelona Beto Agustí.
Rousaud wanted to make clear the lines of action of the candidacy to deal with “the complicated situation facing the club”. Since the pre-candidacy, they have stated that Espai Barça will not start until they have obtained the guarantees of all the members for the new budget in order to carry it out through a referendum. “We will not start the works until we have tidied up the club’s accounts. Up to thirteen executives will be part of the team with which the pre-candidate aims to reach the presidency of the Barça entity.
