Last Saturday Olimpia played the semifinals of the Concacaf Champions League against Tigres; the Honduran team was eliminated after falling to the Mexican team by a score of three to zero. In this way the “Lions” returned to Honduras to continue with the league tournament, however, they had some unpleasant news inside the squad.
Upon his arrival at the Toncontín Airport in Tegucigalpa, soccer player Javier Portillo was arrested by the Honduran Police, as he was denounced for violence against women by Jhennsy Belinda Turcios Gálvez. As soon as Olimpia landed, the players made their check in the country and there the alert was given to Interpol for his capture.

In the police statement it was detailed that Portillo was referred to the corresponding Courts as dictated by law and is awaiting the study and resolution of his case. So far there is no more information about it, but the following hours will be vital to know new updates about it.

After this unusual event, soccer in Honduras has been shaken, although so far the Club Deportivo Olimpia has not spoken about it. The group has changed the chip after its elimination in Concachampions and now its goal is set in the local tournament.
