Dalton commands Cowboys beating over Bengals

CINCINNATI.

Andy Dalton was good enough on his return to Cincinnati by throwing two touchdown passes for the Dallas Cowboys beat Bengals 30-7 on Sunday.

Cincinnati contributed greatly to the cause of his former quarterback, who played at Paul Brown Stadium for the first time since he was dismissed of the team before the campaign started.

The Bengals dropped the ball in their first three plays. A fumble ended in a touchdown and the Cowboys (4-9) finished the first half with 17 points.. That was all they needed.

Welcome to Dalton, the Bengals’ starting quarterback for nine seasons, was the focus of discussion for a duel between two injury-plagued teams and with disappointing seasons

Dalton was helpful, completing 16 of 23 passes for 185 yards and the Cowboys stay in the fight within the weak Eastern Division of the National Conference.

The Bengals offense (2-10-1) has struggled since they were left without quarterback Joe Burrow with a knee injury on November 22. They got into trouble early on and couldn’t get out.
