Caeleb Dressel broke the world record in the 100m short course medley, becoming the first swimmer to drop below 50 seconds in that distance on Monday in the semi-finals of the International Swimming League in Budapest. The multiple record holder (50m freestyle, 100m butterfly) set a time of 49.88, improving by 38 hundredths the previous record held since 2018 by Russian Vladimir Morozov.
