NPB Postseason Roster Cut Deadlines and Tryout Schedule
The annual player turnover follows a strictly regulated calendar established by NPB. The first wave of non-tender and release notifications runs from the day after the farm league regular season concludes through the day before the Climax Series First Stage opens. For teams eliminated in the First Stage, notification windows extend until the day after elimination. The second wave spans from the conclusion of all Climax Series competition through October 30. Separately, the annual joint tryout for players seeking new contracts is scheduled for November 17 at Vantelin Dome Nagoya.
Central League Veteran Retirements and Roster Departures
Hanshin Tigers veterans are stepping away from the mound, as pitchers Yuki Nishi and Yuta Itoh have announced their active playing retirements. Nishi, who entered the league in 2008 as a third-round draft pick for Orix before joining Hanshin via free agency in 2019, concludes a lengthy career alongside Itoh, a 2013 first-round selection. In Tokyo, Yakult Swallows pitcher Masanori Ishikawa finishes a storied career that began with the 2001 draft, while developmental infielder Seiyu Sawano has been made a free agent.
