Fos Provence Basket has bolstered its roster for the remainder of the season by signing veteran forward Garlon Green. The 35-year-old American, who previously played for the club during the 2022-2023 campaign, joins the BYers to provide immediate experience following an opening-day loss to the HTV.
A Familiar Face Returns to the BYers
The return of Garlon Green, a 2.01-meter forward, marks a strategic move for the club as it looks to solidify its standing in the ELITE 2 division. Green is well-acquainted with the team’s environment, having played in the French league for the “Black&Yellow” under the guidance of then-coach Rémy Valin. While the leadership structure has evolved—with Rémi Giuitta now serving as the club’s sporting director and Abgué Barakaou leading the squad as head coach—the organization wants to use Green’s familiarity with the club’s culture.
The club confirmed the signing following a 76-82 defeat to the HTV in the first round of the season. According to an official statement from Fos Provence Basket, coach Abgué Barakaou indicated after the match that the team was actively seeking a final reinforcement for the 3-4 positions to complete the summer transfer window.

Green arrives in Fos-sur-Mer after a three-season stint with the Sharks d’Antibes. During the 2025-2026 season, he appeared in 29 games in the ELITE 2 division, averaging 17.4 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 1.7 assists across 31 minutes of play per game. His shooting efficiency was a notable component of his profile, as he converted 44.4% of his field goal attempts, including a 42.2% success rate from behind the 3-point line on four attempts per game.
Despite his individual production, his tenure in Antibes was described as contrastive, as he faced high expectations as one of the highest-paid players in the division. His most recent season was cut short due to a finger injury, specifically a dislocation of the ring finger, which limited his availability toward the end of his time with the Sharks.
