Shooting Standings at the 25-Meter Mark
Trinh Thu Vinh posted a score of 291 points during the opening session of the women’s 25-meter slow-fire pistol competition. Teammates Nguyen Thuy Trang and Nguyen Thuy Dung followed with scores of 283 and 279 points, respectively. Following the subsequent rapid-fire stage, Trinh Thu Vinh maintained her position in third place with a cumulative total of 891 points. Nguyen Thuy Trang moved to 28th place, while Nguyen Thuy Dung stood 39th. In the team standings, the Vietnamese women’s roster sits seventh overall with an aggregate score of 853 points. Fencing and Archery Progressions
The men’s foil fencing team, featuring Nguyen Phuoc Den, Hoang Nhat Nam, Nguyen Tien Nhat, and Nguyen Minh Hieu, opened the tournament with a 45-39 victory over Saudi Arabia in the round of 16. The squad advanced to the quarterfinals, where they were eliminated following a 29-45 defeat against Japan.
Archery delivered a notable semifinal breakthrough in the mixed team recurve event. In track and field events, Ha Thi Thuy Hang and Tran Thi Loan finished 11th and sixth respectively in the women’s long jump final. Le Thi Cam Tu recorded a seventh-place finish in the women’s 200-meter dash with a time of 23.53 seconds.
Badminton action in the men’s doubles round of 16 saw Nguyen Dinh Hoang and Tran Dinh Manh fall to Indonesia in straight games, 6-21, 10-21.
