The Czech squad claimed the premier international women’s team competition without losing a match during the week in Shenzhen, dropping just a single set throughout the tournament. Karolina Muchova opened the final tie by dispatching Anhelina Kalinina 6-2, 6-3. That performance set the stage for Linda Noskova to clinch the championship.
Noskova faced world number seven Elina Svitolina in a sterner test during the second singles rubber. The 21-year-old Czech player struck 10 aces and holding firm in a tense second set to complete the title-clinching victory in one hour and 33 minutes by a score of 6-3, 7-6(5). Because the Czech Republic secured an unassailable 2-0 lead in the singles matches, 12-time Grand Slam women’s doubles champion Katerina Siniakova and Marie Bouzkova were not required to play the doubles rubber.

The victory marks a historic milestone for Czech captain Barbora Strycova, who became the fourth woman to win the competition as both a player and a captain. As a team, they dropped just one set throughout the tournament, with Britain’s Sonay Kartal the only opponent to win a set.

However, the Ukrainian side played without 10th-ranked Marta Kostyuk, who missed out due to a right wrist injury.
The Czech Republic now stands as the second-most successful nation in the history of the competition, holding 12 titles overall. Since the International Tennis Federation started the Federation Cup in 1963 to celebrate its 50th birthday, the United States stands alone with a record 18 titles, alongside being absent from this year’s finals. The opening event brought together 16 countries at London’s Queen’s Club, with an American lineup featuring Billie Jean King—known at that time as Billie Jean Moffitt—defeating Australia in the title match. In 1995, the tournament adopted the shortened Fed Cup title alongside a structural redesign that brought in home-and-away ties, keeping that moniker until its 2020 rebranding as the Billie Jean King Cup.
