The milestone arrives as the artist looks back on a career that transformed him from an explosive 1980s youth icon into an enduring pillar of Italian pop. Welcoming the year with his trademark intensity, Cherubini offered a candid assessment of his physical and mental state at this juncture: “Ho sessant’anni e me li sento tutti.” Earlier in the season, he gathered his core fan base for a major live performance at the historic Circo Massimo in Rome.
A 2,000-Kilometer Recovery Ride
The celebrations extended far beyond the concert stage into punishing physical territory. To cap off the run of his Jova Summer Party concert series, Cherubini climbed onto a bicycle and pedaled roughly 2,000 kilometers between tour stops. The grueling trek functioned as a powerful personal recovery. It directly followed a severe bicycle crash in Santo Domingo in 2023 that had left the musician facing serious concerns over his future mobility.
The Big Screen Retrospective
The anniversary year culminates in a deep cinematic dive into the singer-songwriter’s life and creative process. Titled “Lorenzo – L’incredibile avventura di Jovanotti,” the new docufilm is set for a theatrical run in Italy from November 26 to December 2. Directed by filmmakers Dario Zonta and Carlo Zoratti, the project will receive its world premiere at the upcoming Festa del Cinema di Roma.
