The outreach effort focused on direct storytelling and shared experiences on the water, pairing young participants with decorated Italian athletes. Among the champions participating in the initiative were speed skater Francesca Lollobrigida, judoka Pino Maddaloni, volleyball player Valerio Vermiglio, water polo player Tania Di Mario, basketball player Giacomo Galanda, gymnast Angelika Savrajuk, and rower Marco Di Costanzo. The youth outreach coincided with the ongoing Louis Vuitton 38th America’s Cup Preliminary Regatta, scheduled in the Gulf of Naples through Sunday, Sept. 27. Serving as the final stop on the designated “Road to Naples 2027” calendar, the regatta features nine AC40 racing yachts representing six nations. The athletic program comprises eight fleet races followed by a concluding match race between the top two competing syndicates, supported by a waterfront Race Village and public viewing areas.
