Bodrum Public Square Transforms Into Asphalt Arena

Fifty-six teams. One hundred twenty-four matches. Three days of open-air competition.

The Turgutreis Atatürk Meydan-ı 3×3 Streetball Tournament has officially kicked off in Bodrum, shifting local basketball action away from traditional indoor courts and directly into the public square. Organized by the Bodrum Belediyesi, the event features fierce competition across seven distinct categories for both girls and boys.

Opening Day Action on the Asphalt

Play commenced at 17.00 local time on the opening day, utilizing two separate half-courts set up directly in the public square. Teams across the minikler, küçükler, gençler, and büyükler categories immediately took to the asphalt to battle through initial group-stage fixtures.

Spectators and local basketball enthusiasts gathered tightly around the makeshift courts to follow the action as players fought for early positioning and a vital path to the knockout rounds.

Endurance Tests and Escalating Tempo

Tournament organizers scheduled a heavier load for the second day of competition, with action slated to begin at 12.00 local time.

Following the conclusion of the group phases, the tournament moves swiftly toward cross-pairings, leading directly into the third-place playoffs and championship finals.

Championship Sunday and Closing Festivities

The tournament concludes on Sunday, September 27, when the bracket champions across all seven divisions will be decided.

Alongside the championship fixtures, the final day features a three-point contest, a special exhibition game, and a live dance performance. The event wraps up with a medal and trophy presentation for the podium finishers, followed immediately by a closing concert and DJ performance at Turgutreis Atatürk Meydanı.
