Staged as the fifth running of the “LV BET Nakts rallijkross,” the Saturday evening season finale drew a packed crowd of spectators to the venue’s stands for a program featuring roughly one hundred competing athletes across multiple vehicle classes.
The event opened midday with qualification and final heats, alongside supporting motorcycle freestyle and buggy shows. As night fell over the Biķernieku venue, the track shifted from racing competition to a festival atmosphere. Organizers deployed a coordinated drone performance above the circuit that projected motorsport and Riga-themed imagery into the night sky, accompanied by music and lighting. Spectators in the stands observed the aerial display in silence before the evening closed with a high-energy pyrotechnics show.
Championship Battles Down to the Final Heats
While the entertainment drew comparisons to large-scale city festivals, the racing action on the six-stage Latvijas-Lietuvas rallijkross calendar carried high stakes, with several class titles remaining undecided until the final runs of the season.
In the BMW RX 3000 class, Lithuanian driver Lukas Sidabras secured the championship title with 194 points, demonstrating steady form and claiming maximum or near-maximum points across multiple stops. Jānis Olle finished second in the overall standings with 161 points, while Helmuts Bartkevičs took third with 151 points.
The LADA RX division delivered a close points battle. Rolands Bružāns edged out Niks Mežiņš by a two-point margin, claiming the championship with 166 points to Mežiņš’s 164 points. Niks Cīnītis rounded out the podium in third position with 127 points.
Lenards Lepsis captured the Super 2000 title with 182 points, adding a maximum of 35 points to his tally during the decisive Biķernieki round. The battle behind him proved tight, as Varis Zentiņš and Miks Gabrāns tied for the next positions with 153 points each, followed by Kristaps Kasparovičs with 151 points.
Class Winners Across Junior and Open Categories
Valdas Mikužis claimed the Super 1600 standings lead with 165 points, outpacing Rītis Rutkauskas, who finished with 144 points. In the Yaris 1000 category, Jēkabs Martinovs dominated the season by winning maximum points in all five counted rounds to finish with 175 points. Magnuss Baumanis took second with 140 points, and Armands Krivenkovs placed third with 127 points.
The Cross Car championship produced one of the tightest margins of the year, with only three points separating the top three competitors after six rounds. Lithuanian driver Kernius Šulinskas secured the title with 174 points, followed by Adrians Apsītis with 172 points and Roberts Purmalis with 171 points. Although Purmalis won the final round by earning 33 points, the result left him just short of the overall crown.
In the junior divisions, Everts Grava won the Cross Car Junior category with 177 points after taking maximum points at Biķernieki. Klāvs Žvagins placed second with 151 points, and Patrīcija Neikšāne finished third with 131 points. Marians Bērzkalns captured the Cross Car Mini cup with 179 points, ahead of Marta Skusta with 169 points, while Gustavs Korņejevs and Kaspars Kazemeks tied with 162 points each.
Additional event awards included Kristaps Kronbergs winning the “Sky Power starta karaļa” title. Biķernieki track 60th-anniversary commemorative awards were presented to Marians Bērzkalns, Helmuts Bartkevičs, and Bruno Blumbergs.
