Club Brugge has emerged as a serious contender for Elche attacker Germán Valera. Transfer journalist Matteo Moretto reports that the 24-year-old Spaniard has drawn heavy interest as scouts closely monitor his development in Spain’s Segunda División.
The reigning Belgian champions are not alone in the pursuit. Portuguese side Sporting CP has also set its sights on the winger ahead of the upcoming transfer window.
A Circuitous Path Through Spanish Football
Valera initially emerged through the youth ranks at Atlético Madrid. Yet, he struggled to secure a permanent place in the senior squad.
Subsequent stints at Real Sociedad and Valencia also failed to yield a definitive breakthrough. It was only after his move to Elche that the attacker finally earned regular playing time and established himself as a key contributor.
Tactical Versatility on Both Flanks
The interest from Club Brugge stems largely from Valera’s positional flexibility across the pitch. While primarily operating on the left flank, he is capable of playing on the right. He can even feature as a left-back based on his defensive and tactical profile.
That adaptability could provide solutions to multiple roster concerns.

Particular attention surrounds the right side of the Brugge attack. Carlos Forbs currently serves as a primary option.
