German tennis professionals Kevin Krawietz and Tim Pütz will end their successful doubles partnership at the conclusion of the season, with Krawietz slated to team up with former World No. 1 doubles player Mate Pavic starting next year, according to reports confirmed by Krawietz.
Partnership Ending After Multi-Year Run
The successful run of the German doubles duo Kevin Krawietz and Tim Pütz is coming to a close. Pütz, 38, had already hinted at the conclusion of the partnership shortly after their runner-up finish at the US Open in mid-September, noting a desire to spend more time with his family in the future. Since joining forces in 2023, Krawietz and Pütz established themselves among the world’s elite, highlighted by their triumph at the ATP Finals in 2024. Despite coming close on multiple occasions, including another defeat in the US Open final, a joint Grand Slam title eluded the duo.
New Alliance With Mate Pavic
Looking ahead to next season, Krawietz has secured a formidable new partner on the ATP Tour. The German player will team up with Croatia’s Mate Pavic, a former World No. 1 in doubles. The pairing came together rapidly after Krawietz and Pütz faced Pavic and his partner Nikola Mektic during the second qualification round of the Davis Cup. “I had inquiries from other players beforehand, but after a longer talk with Mate, it was very quickly clear that we want to try this now.”
Chasing Final Titles in Turin and Bologna
Before closing the book on their partnership, Krawietz and Pütz still have significant competitive goals on the immediate horizon. The pair will compete at the ATP Finals in Turin from November 15 to 22, aiming to capture another major trophy together. Immediately following the season-ending championship, they will travel to Bologna for the Davis Cup final round from November 24 to 29, representing Germany in their final joint campaign.
