Building the Coaching Staff

Van Bommel has assembled a technical staff featuring Boudewijn Zenden, Maarten Martens, and Reinier Robbemond, as confirmed by the Union belge. Each assistant brings a distinct background in top-tier European football and prior coaching experience.

Boudewijn Zenden joins the setup after a playing career that included stints at PSV Eindhoven, Barcelona, Chelsea, Liverpool, Marseille, and Sunderland. The former Netherlands international, who earned 54 caps for his country, previously worked as an assistant coach at Chelsea and Jong PSV. Maarten Martens, a former creative midfielder who won the Dutch championship with AZ Alkmaar and is a former Diable Rouge, transitions to the national setup after building a reputation as a promising head coach at AZ. Reinier Robbemond rounds out the group, bringing extensive experience from Dutch professional football. Robbemond previously served as head coach at clubs including FC Oss, De Graafschap, and Willem II, and has past experience working alongside Van Bommel as an assistant at PSV Eindhoven and Maccabi Tel Aviv.
