Paroubek entered the tournament as the top-seeded player and met expectations by moving cleanly through the draw. Meanwhile, fellow Aargau competitor Sandra Hopfner of TC Wettingen, who holds 31 career senior titles, settled for a silver medal after falling 3-6, 4-6 to Gabriela Baumgartner in her respective final.

Martin Gloor triumphs in hard-fought men’s 65+ final

The men’s 65+ category proved to be a stronghold for the Aargau delegation, placing three players in the semifinals: Martin Gloor of TC Teufenthal, René Barro of TC Mutschellen, and Daniel Roth of TC Aarau. In the oldest contested bracket, the men’s 85+ division, Peter Hausherr of TC Bremgarten earned the gold medal by sweeping both of his group-stage matches in straight sets. The title marks the ninth national championship victory of Hausherr’s career. In the youngest senior category, the 35+ division, Luca Barro of TC Mutschellen claimed a silver medal, marking his first podium finish at the national senior championships.
