Bundesliga – unsatisfactory for both – sport

Newcomers VfB Stuttgart are still waiting for their first home win in the Bundesliga. Despite an early goal from Orel Mangala (1st), the Swabians only scored 1-1 against 1. FC Köln, who started the season poorly. Even for the Rhinelander, for whom Sebastian Andersson (23rd penalty kick) secured the second draw in a row, the result was unsatisfactory: They have been waiting for a victory since March 6 and now 15 league games. “A point is a point, but we need more. We have to start winning,” said Andersson on the DAZN microphone: “It would have been possible to take three points today.”

It took only 24 seconds until the ball was in the net behind Cologne goalkeeper Timo Horn. After an attack by Gonzalo Castro and Daniel Didavi, Sasa Kalajdzic put down on Mangala, who finished precisely into the top left corner of the goal from 17 meters. Only two minutes later, after a free kick from Didavi, luckily only the crossbar trembled for the guests (3rd). Atakan Karazor then caused the Cologne equalization: His pulling on Andersson’s jersey punished referee Guido Winkmann (Kerken) with a penalty – the fouled sure converted him. The game remained varied. Both teams got chances, but ruined many good approaches due to inaccuracies in the setup of the game.
