Youth World Cup: PSG, Chelsea & Bayern Stars to Compete in Sens, France (Free to Watch!)

Sens, France – The city of Sens, located less than an hour from Paris by train, is set to host the 31st edition of the Tournoi Sans Frontière (TSF) this weekend, a premier youth football tournament for players under 14. From Friday, April 3rd to Monday, April 6th, the event will welcome some of the most promising young talents from across France and Europe, and will be attended by members of the French national team’s coaching staff, including head coach Didier Deschamps and his assistant, Guy Stéphan.

Established in 1994, the Tournoi Sans Frontière has become a proving ground for future stars. Organizers note that 18 members of the 2018 French World Cup-winning squad and 21 players called up for the 2022 World Cup previously competed in the tournament. More recently, the current Paris Saint-Germain attacking trio of Désiré Doué, Bradley Barcola, and Ousmane Dembélé all honed their skills at the TSF.

This year’s competition features a strong field, with 11 Ligue 1 clubs participating alongside international powerhouses like Benfica Lisbonne, Chelsea FC, Manchester United, Bayern Munich, and Juventus Turin. The Stade de Reims won the championship last year and will not be returning to defend their title. The local team, a selection from the Grand Sénonais region, will be the only amateur side competing.

The presence of Deschamps and Stéphan underscores the importance of the TSF as a scouting ground for the national team. Franck Raviot, the goalkeeper coach for the French national team and a lifelong “parrain” (sponsor) of the tournament, emphasized the event’s growing reputation. “This tournament confirms, edition after edition, that it has a renowned reputation not only nationally but internationally as well,” Raviot said. “When you see the caliber of the invited teams, the representation from different countries, and the level of competition, it confirms that this tournament is among the very best.”

All matches will be free and open to the public at the René-Binet sports complex in Sens, and will also be streamed live on YouTube. The tournament attracted an estimated 25,000 spectators during its 30th edition in 2025, with stands reportedly full throughout the four-day event.

Group Stage Draw

The draw for the 2026 tournament, held on February 2nd, has divided the teams into five groups:

  • Group A: Toulouse Football Club, LOSC Lille, Juventus de Turin, Grand Sénonais
  • Group B: OGC Nice, Racing Club de Strasbourg, Chelsea FC, FC Tokyo
  • Group C: Paris Saint-Germain, Stade Rennais FC, Benfica Lisbonne, RSC Anderlecht
  • Group D: Olympique de Marseille, Foot Club de Nantes, FC Bayern Munich, Servette FC Genève
  • Group E: Olympique Lyonnais, Racing Club de Lens, Manchester United, AJ Auxerre

Beyond the on-field action, the Tournoi Sans Frontière is a significant event for the city of Sens and the surrounding region. The tournament relies heavily on the dedication of nearly 200 volunteers, who handle everything from welcoming teams to managing logistics, and concessions. In 2025, the event served over 4,000 meals and 820 kilograms of fries to players and spectators alike.

The TSF’s history is rich with success stories. As Deschamps himself recalled, “Sens has seen so many professional players pass through. It’s a very big, very beautiful tournament, very well organized. I only have very fond memories.” The tournament provides a platform for young players to showcase their abilities in front of scouts from professional clubs and national teams, potentially launching their careers.

With the 2026 World Cup on the horizon, Deschamps’ presence at the TSF is particularly noteworthy. The tournament offers a valuable opportunity to identify potential future stars for Les Bleus, and to assess the development of promising young players within the French system. The event’s organizers and the city of Sens are proud to host this prestigious competition, which continues to grow in stature and importance within the world of youth football.

The next confirmed checkpoint for the Tournoi Sans Frontière is the start of the group stage matches on Friday, April 3rd. For more information and live updates, visit the tournament’s official Facebook page and YouTube channel.
