The match turned decisively around the hour mark. Strasbourg midfielder Samir El Mourabet received a red card in the 66th minute following an altercation with Højbjerg. Moments later, referee Jérôme Buquet pointed to the penalty spot after reviewing a challenge by Guéla Doué on Paixão inside the area. Gouiri converted the ensuing penalty in the 67th minute to double the lead.

With Strasbourg reduced to ten men and chasing the game, Marseille capitalized on the opened spaces in the closing stages. Academy product Keyliane Abdallah, introduced as a substitute, scored the team’s third goal in the 89th minute with a well-taken finish.

Højbjerg added the final goal deep into stoppage time, connecting on a forceful volley to establish the 4-0 final score.
