Suchdol vs Pečky: Narrow 1-0 Win in I. B třída Group C Match

Pečky, Czech Republic – In a tightly contested match, Sokol Družba Suchdol secured a crucial 1-0 victory over AFK Pečky on Sunday, marking their first league game of the spring season. The win, sealed by a stoppage-time goal from Ruben Dobeš, provides a significant boost for Suchdol in the I. B třída, Group C.

The match, played at Barákova ul. In Pečky, was described by Suchdol coach David Čižinský as more of a “battle than a beautiful game.” Čižinský emphasized the importance of scoring, stating, “From the beginning, it was clear that whoever scored would probably win.”

According to Čižinský, Pečky dominated possession in the first half, while Suchdol struggled to find their rhythm. “They held the ball more, we played downhill, and were quicker in the challenges,” he explained. Despite the differing approaches, the first half concluded without either side finding the back of the net.

The second half continued in a similar vein, with both teams battling for control. Martin Králík came close for Suchdol, hitting the crossbar from a free kick. Dobeš also had two clear opportunities, but was unable to convert them. As the clock ticked down, a draw seemed increasingly likely.

However, in the dying moments of the game, Dobeš finally broke the deadlock. Čižinský detailed the winning play: “In the last attack of the match, Ruben Dobeš got ahead of the defender after a cross and the goalkeeper deflected the ball into the top corner.”

The goal, scored in the 92nd minute, sparked celebrations amongst the Suchdol players and supporters. Čižinský acknowledged the significance of the three points, particularly in the context of the league table. “Given the league standings, these are golden points for us. Every point will be important – we are three points ahead of the fourth team, and also three points ahead of the second-to-last team.”

Čižinský felt his team deserved the win, citing their greater number of scoring chances. “Today we deserved the win for the goal-scoring opportunities we had compared to our opponent.”

The match was officiated by Lukáš Novotný, with Jaroslav Stumpf and Leoš Hanák serving as assistant referees. Martin Prislupský was the match delegate. A total of 78 spectators witnessed the hard-fought victory.
