Grasnapolsky 2026 Lineup Expands with 30 New Artists
Groningen, Netherlands – Grasnapolsky, the discovery festival known for showcasing emerging talent, has announced a significant expansion to its 2026 lineup, adding thirty new names to an already diverse bill. The festival, which is relocating to the EMG & Zakkenloods in Groningen, will take place from May 14th to 16th, 2026.
Among the newly announced artists are Hiqpy, Alice Olsthoorn, Honey I’m Home, GLINTSAL, Ratboys, Brògeal, and Tjels, alongside a showcase titled “Girls to the Front.” The expanded roster reflects Grasnapolsky’s commitment to a broad range of genres, encompassing hyperpop, shoegaze, punk, hip-hop, and folk music.
A Diverse Musical Landscape
The full list of additions includes Badminton, Bricknasty, DJ st. Paul, Figgie, Fit, HEADS WILL ROLL, Hondenfokker, Kaya, Kleine Kova, Ko Kliko, L’orne, M2K, MAIN., Moonloops, and Naaimachine. Festival organizers promise a vibrant and eclectic musical experience for attendees. You can find the complete lineup on the Grasnapolsky festival page.
This year’s additions highlight Grasnapolsky’s knack for identifying rising stars. Hiqpy, for example, is returning to the festival after playing one of their first festival shows there two years ago. Honey I’m Home has garnered attention as “the coolest new band in the Netherlands” by 3voor12 and topped the Noorderslag-top 25. Tjels, meanwhile, has been making waves with her folk-inspired songs during the Popronde tour.
The Scottish band Brògeal brings a unique sound, blending folk music with traditional Irish and Scottish instruments, adding an international flavor to the festival’s lineup.
Accessibility and Ticketing Options
In a move to make the festival more accessible to the local community, Grasnapolsky is introducing day tickets in addition to weekend passes. Day tickets will cost €55 on Thursday or Saturday (€35 for those under 25) and €45 on Friday (€30 for those under 25). This provides a more flexible option for attendees, particularly those living in Groningen.
The festival’s move to the EMG & Zakkenloods marks a new chapter for Grasnapolsky. After five years in Scheemda, the festival is following the route of the grain it was originally inspired by – via the Eemskanaal to the city. The EMG, a grain warehouse built in 1908, and the adjacent Zakkenloods offer a unique industrial setting for the event.
Grasnapolsky has evolved over the years, reflecting on its origins and looking towards the future. The 2026 theme, “Everything will always be different,” encapsulates this transition, as the festival moves from East Groningen to the city, from a winter event to a spring celebration, and from a fully indoor experience to one that incorporates outdoor spaces.
What to Expect at EMG & Zakkenloods
The EMG & Zakkenloods location offers a distinctive atmosphere. The EMG, with its imposing silo, and the lighter, more modern Zakkenloods provide contrasting spaces for music, art, theatre, and installations. The festival promises to transform these industrial buildings into a vibrant hub of creativity, and discovery.
Grasnapolsky has a history of showcasing artists early in their careers, with acts like Froukje, Goldband, Tamino, and S10 all having performed at the festival before achieving mainstream success. This year’s lineup continues that tradition, offering a platform for emerging musicians, theatre-makers, poets, and visual artists.
The festival’s organizers emphasize that Grasnapolsky is more than just a music festival; it’s a place to explore, wonder, and discover. From intimate sessions to large concerts, from installations to expeditions, there’s something for everyone at Grasnapolsky.
