Royale Union Saint-Gilloise faces another significant roster overhaul after reports indicated that Ghanaian forward Mohammed Fuseini is drawing concrete interest from European clubs, potentially joining a growing list of departures from the Jupiler Pro League side under manager David Hubert.
A Sizable Exodus at the Duden Park
Union Saint-Gilloise has already experienced major personnel changes during the current transfer cycle. According to recent reports, the club secured nearly 25 million euro for Anan Khalaili and brought in 10 million euro for goalkeeper Kjell Scherpen. Alongside those substantial sales, established figures Christian Burgess and Promise David have also moved on, leaving manager David Hubert without four key pillars from the previous campaign.
The transition is not stopping there. Defender Fedde Leysen is reportedly on the verge of a transfer to Italian side Sassuolo. Meanwhile, 24-year-old forward Mohammed Fuseini has found himself at the center of heavy transfer speculation following a stretch of matches that highlighted his value in European competition.
Interest from England, Germany, and France
Fuseini has featured prominently for Union this season, starting three of the club’s first five matches. His contributions include forcing extra time against Bodø/Glimt alongside two recorded assists. That productivity has caught the attention of suitors across England, Germany, and France.
Among the interested parties, French promotion side ESTAS Troyes has emerged with a concrete proposal. However, reports indicate that Troyes is pursuing a loan deal containing an option to buy, whereas Union Saint-Gilloise favors permanent transfers.
Fuseini arrived at the club in the summer of 2024 for a reported fee of 2 million euro from Austrian side Sturm Graz. His initial campaign in Belgium was disrupted by a lengthy spell on the sidelines due to injury, limiting him to three goals across 27 appearances.

The potential exit of Fuseini following Promise David’s departure leaves manager David Hubert with a thinning forward line. Union currently retains three strikers on the books: Kévin Rodriguez, Raul Florucz, and Mateo Bondic.
