The decision to undergo surgery came after recurring knee pain, stemming from a previous impact, intensified during recent training sessions. Nys had been building toward the start of his 2026 road campaign, with a planned debut at the Gran Premio Miguel Indurain, but discomfort ultimately prompted the team to seek a more permanent solution.
