Téji Savanier is still talked about. While he was verbally attacked by an opposing supporter, the Montpellier midfielder responded violently during his team’s defeat against Saint-Étienne (1-0) on Saturday on the 22nd day of Ligue 2.
After being replaced by Khalil Fayad on the hour mark, the former Ligue 1 magician headed to the substitutes’ bench to sit down. And in a 35-second video posted on X (formerly Twitter) without any context, the footballer explodes and insults a supporter by telling him to go “fuck his dead” several times.
This is not the first time that Téji Savanier has clashed with a supporter. Last year in the Coupe de France, he tricked a fan of the amateur club (N2) du Puy by highlighting his salary. To the question “last in Ligue 1, does that hurt?” », he replied: “When you earn 210,000 euros per month, no”.
With this defeat against Saint-Étienne, Montpellier is 10th in Ligue 2 and is starting to potentially complicate the path to promotion. Indeed, the Hérault club is six points behind Red Star, fifth, which could play in the playoffs for promotion.
