VICTOR DM 2026 has shown Danish badminton at its best. Big surprises, young breakthroughs and splendid performances from the established profiles have spoiled the many in attendance all week in Sydjysk Sparekasse Skansen. On Saturday, it all culminates with four finals.
The men’s singles final, however, has a different outcome than expected. Rasmus Gemke had to withdraw with an injury prior to Saturday’s clash. The double Danish champion from Hvidovre was otherwise set to face Magnus Johannesen from Vendsyssel for the third year in a row, but the cancellation means that Johannesen can call himself Danish champion for the first time. The young North Jutland national team player has impressed greatly the previous two days in Sønderborg. We wish Johannesen congratulations on the gold medal and Gemke a speedy recovery.

Women’s singles: Line Christophersen (1) – Julie Dawall (3/4)
The audience can expect a real thrill in the women’s singles final, when two national team profiles compete together. Line Christophersen from Skovshoved is chasing her seventh DM title in a row and with another triumph can write herself even closer to legends such as Camilla Martin, Lene Køppen and Tine Baun.
Opposite Christophersen is Julie Dawall from Værløse, who is chasing her first World Championship gold medal and at the same time the opportunity to put an end to Christophersen’s impressive winning streak.
Men’s doubles: Kim Astrup/Anders Skaarup (1) – Kristoffer Kolding/Calvin Lundsgaard
Kristoffer Kolding from Hvidovre and Calvin Lundsgaard from Greve have been among the biggest surprises of the tournament. With top performances all week – including a semi-final victory in two sets over the World Tour pair Lundgaard/Vestergaard – they have played in the final in style.
One of Danish badminton’s most winning men’s doubles pairs awaits here: Kim Astrup from Hvidovre and Anders Skaarup from Højberg, who are listed for four DM titles. Kolding has really made a name for himself among feather fanatics, and the men’s doubles final is even only one of two finals for the young Hvidovre player this Saturday.

Women’s doubles: Signe Schulz/Simona Pilgaard (3/4) – Lærke Tolstrup Hvid/Anna Klausholm (3/4)
The women’s doubles final is a repeat of last year’s Welsh International Open. Back then, Signe Schulz from Værløse and Simona Pilgaard from Odense OBK drew the longest straw, but Lærke Tolstrup Hvid from Skovshoved and Anna Klausholm from Solrød Strand are ready to take revenge.
Both pairs entered the tournament on Thursday and have yet to drop a set at this year’s VICTOR DM. It is guaranteed to be changed for at least one pair. Everything points to a close, intense and watchable final between two top couples of international class.
Mixed doubles: Mathias Christiansen/Alexandra Bøje (1) – Kristoffer Kolding/Mette Werge
On paper, there is both experience and major titles as the difference between first-seeded Christiansen/Bøje and the young Hvidovre pair Kolding/Werge. But with the level Kolding and Werge have shown in Sønderborg – and the potential many have pointed to in the duo – the national team pair would do well not to underestimate them.
The mixed doubles final has a clear desk favourite, but the possibilities for an intense affair and a surprise are definitely there. We look forward to it.
