Mérida, home of the World Indoor Archery Series
Mérida, February 4, 2026.- Rommel Pacheco, general director of CONADE, reported that Yucatán will host the Mérida 2026 Indoor Archery World Series, from February 13 to 15 at the Yucatán Siglo XXI Convention Center.
Likewise, he recalled that this year work will begin to make the Center of Excellence of the Americas for Archery, which was announced last year by CONADE and World Archery México, become a reality in Mérida and that will not only benefit national arrows, but also other neighboring countries that seek to prepare in our territory.
The Mérida 2026 Indoor Archery World Series is key within the annual circuit of the International Federation of this sport (World Archery), as it is a category 500 tournament, which is higher in hierarchy than most of the venues in the series and grants important points for the international ranking.
Prior to its appointment in Mérida, this series was held in the cities of Lausanne (Switzerland), Strassen (Luxembourg), Taoyuan (Chinese Taipei), Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) and Nimes (France).
This competition will take place at a key moment for Mexican sport, since 2026 is the year that marks the beginning of the Olympic cycle towards Los Angeles 2028, and archery is one of the priority sports on the way to the great event, according to what was expressed by Pacheco Marrufo a few months ago.
At the state level, the indoor tournament is expected to have great impact and influence on the shooters, since, thanks to recent results, Yucatán has established itself as one of the leaders and candidates to succeed year after year in the CONADE National Olympiad.
