On Sunday 1 February 2026, the first badminton tournament of the fifth edition of the VERGANTE BADMINTON TROPHY took place in the gym named after Mario Genova, mayor of Pisano who with great enthusiasm wanted a gym in the town he administered.

“With the patronage of the municipalities of the Vergante and the local associations as well as the sponsor friends FARMACIA BELLORA-LA MOLLETTA-LAMAY-PAGLIERINI 1902-SPAZIO PISCINE -RACHELLI REAL ESTATE who now follow us with loyalty and attention, the senior and under 13 categories and the under 13 singles categories for the Baddy Cup, a federal promotional event, competed in the doubles specialty for the Baddy Cup, a federal promotional event” the Gioko ASD association states.
The mix of deliberately heterogeneous couples led to interesting and hard-fought matches. This first test in the senior category was won by the couple Giuseppe Bertolino and Tommaso Garbaccio who won all the matches. On the second step “grandfather” Guido Sommaruga aged 78 together with the very fresh Leo Lorenzini born in 2010 who precede the couple of president and vice president, Paola Morosini and Marco Garbaccio.
In the under 13s, a very tight final between the team formed by Greta Miazzo and Mattia Pasino who narrowly won over the pair Elia Genova and Amir Moussafir.
In the under 13 singles Baddy Cup, Mattia Pasino won easily over Elia Genova and Amir Moussafir.
“Now we have a break period waiting for the first test of the Regional UNDER 11 CIRCUIT on Saturday 11th April and the second test of the VERGANTE BADMINTON TROPHY on Sunday 12th which will also take place in Pisano.
Furthermore, on March 22nd, for the first time, Pisano will host the Regional Master Championship in the three disciplines of singles, doubles and mixed doubles”.
