At just 18 years old, Luka Vuskovic is one of the best central defenders in the Bundesliga. The Croatian is the undisputed head of defense at Hamburger SV, but also knows how to shine offensively. This hasn’t gone unnoticed by FC Bayern Munich, who could have had Vuskovic in their own ranks for a long time.
As can be seen from the ‘Bild’ podcast ‘Bayern Insider’, the right-footer was offered to Bayern in February 2023. Vuskovic, then active for Hadjuk Split, would have been available for two to three million euros. But the league leader was not completely convinced that the whiz kid was, among other things, “too arrogant on the ball” according to Munich’s chief scout.
Ultimately, Vuskovic moved to Tottenham Hotspur the following summer for 15 million euros, where he is still under contract today. If the North Londoners sell the defensive specialist next summer, a multiple of the sum is likely to be due.
