Oscar & Okeke Ban: 2-Game Suspension & Club Fines

Midfielders Oscar Dorley from Slavia and Nelson Okeke from Jablonec were banned from starting for two competitive matches by the Disciplinary Commission of the League Football Association after being expelled in the opening spring round of the first league. Mladá Boleslav coach Aleš Majer and Slavist assistant coach Zdeněk Houštecký will miss their teams once due to four yellow cards. Baník Ostrava was fined 80,000 crowns and Slavia 70,000 for inappropriate behavior of the fans. The Disciplinary Commission informed about this in a communique.

In Sunday’s game in Pardubice, Slavista Oscar stepped on Michal Hlavaté’s ankle in the middle of the field. Head referee Lukáš Nehasil sent off the Liberian midfielder after the intervention of the video referee and watching repeated footage. The defending champions and the leaders of the table then did not keep the lead and drew 1:1 in the east of the Czech Republic.

In the duel with Teplice, Okeke stepped badly on substitute John Auta, and referee Jakub Wulkan, after the intervention of the video referee and a review of the situation, immediately sent off the home midfielder instead of the originally awarded yellow card. In the end, Jablonec defended the result 1:0.

Even Dukla defender Mouhamed Traoré did not finish in the weekend matches of the 20th round of the top competition. The 22-year-old player from the Ivory Coast received two yellow cards in the Prague derby with Sparta (0:3), he will miss the Dejvice team in one competitive match.

Both Majer and Houštecký each received their fourth warning in the league season due to protests. The first named was guilty in the match with Bohemians 1905, Houštecký in a duel on the Pardubice pitch. Both will miss Saturday’s Round 21 clash in Eden.

The Disciplinary Commission also fined three Premier League clubs for events dating back to the autumn 19th round. The supporters of Ostrava Baník were guilty of uttering and using pyrotechnics against Pardubice, which led to the interruption of the match. Slavist fans in the home match with Jablonec and Zlín fans in the match with Olomouc committed the same offense. Zlín must pay 30,000 crowns.
