Protector of the Year – Der neue NFL Award
The “Protector of the Year” award will be presented for the first time as part of the NFL Honors. It recognizes the most outstanding offensive lineman of a single NFL season and is based solely on on-field performance. The award was initiated by Buffalo Bills tackle Dion Dawkins. The winner will be selected by an exclusive selection committee of former All-Pro centers, guards and tackles. These NFL legends bring championship experience and position-specific expertise to the evaluation. The jury includes LeCharles Bentley (two-time Pro Bowler), Jason Kelce (six-time All-Pro and Super Bowl LII champion), Shaun O’Hara (three-time Pro Bowler and Super Bowl XLII champion), Orlando Pace (Pro Football Hall of Fame, Class of 2016, and Super Bowl XXXIV champion), Will Shields (Pro Football Hall of Fame, Class of 2015, and Walter Payton NFL Man). of the Year 2003) and Andrew Whitworth (Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year 2021 and Super Bowl LVI champion).
