The Minnesota Wild have found a new way to score goals and it’s certainly inspired by the Vikings in the NFL.
Vinnie Hinostroza’s goal, assisted by Jake Middleton, had all the makings of a prepared football game. From his zone, the defender went there with a very long lifted pass.

During this time, the attacker made a good route to find himself free in neutral territory. Hinostroza stretched out his arm to catch the puck before sliding it in front of the blade of his stick. His precise shot then beat Calgary Flames goalie Devin Cooley. WATCH IN MAIN VIDEO
It was his first field goal since November 7 and quarterback JJ McCarthy was certainly impressed.
“It was a very nice play, he read it well,” Middleton said after the game. Catching, shooting and scoring, it was impressive. I had never tried this before. It was a great goal.”
Minnesota won this game 4-1.
