The Friborg clubs are reconquering during the Final Four of the SBL Cup. Dethroned respectively by Geneva and Nyon in the championship final in 2025, Olympic and Elfic hope to win the first trophy awarded this season on Sunday.

Thibaut Petit’s men and Romain Gaspoz’s players both have a title to defend in this Coupe de la Ligue, the final tournament of which takes place as usual at the Salle du Pierrier in Montreux/Clarens. The men’s semi-finals are scheduled for Saturday afternoon, the finals on Sunday (ladies at 1 p.m., men at 4 p.m.).
Double holder of the trophy, Olympic will therefore have a first obstacle to overcome on Saturday, just like Geneva. The Fribourgeois will meet at 2 p.m. Union Neuchâtel, the only team to have beaten them on the national scene this season (in Neuchâtel on December 13 in SBL). They will therefore not make the mistake of underestimating this opponent.
Beaten by Olympic in the final of the SBL Cup a year earlier, Geneva will face the Starwings from 5 p.m., surprising 4th in the championship tied on points with Pully Lausanne. The Lions beat the Rhinelanders twice in two duels fought in the 2025/26 championship, including a scathing 120-66 in October.
For the ladies, the final will pit the two best teams in the country against each other. Five-time holders of the trophy, the Elves are at the top of the SBL rankings with only one defeat in 14 matches (suffered against Geneva LPLO). They won the two direct confrontations with BBC Nyon, which could dispossess the Fribourgeoises of the last title they still hold.
