Ivan Perisic is close to a move to Internazionale, according to Italian rumors. The transfer is said to have gained momentum and the Croatian could sign with the Nerazzurri next week. It has been shining for some time now Perisic on the front pages of the Italian sports newspapers and talk of a possible return.
“Inter is now very close to an agreement with Perisic,” the website writes The Interista after discussions with sources surrounding the possible transfer. According to Italian media, there has been an agreement between the 36-year-old Croat and his former employer for some time, but PSV did not want to participate in the deal. That has completely changed due to the events in the Champions League, he said The Interista.
A contract would be ready in Italy until mid-2027 and Perisic could complete the transfer in the coming week. Against NAC Breda, the attacker was on the bench as a precaution, because trainer Peter Bosz did not want to take any risks with his veteran after the lost Champions League match against Newcastle United.
Perisic previously played 254 games for Internazionale. The club acquired him from VfL Wolfsburg for nineteen million euros in 2015 and he was briefly loaned to Bayern Munich in the 2019/2020 season. Perisic also played for Tottenham Hotspur, Club Brugge, Borussia Dortmund and Hajduk Split. “The countdown to Ivan’s return has begun,” concludes The Interista.
