MORELIA, Mich., January 24, 2026.- For eight years, para badminton has been part of the life of Maximiliano Ávila, an athlete from Jalisco who, he shared, owes everything to this discipline, since it was what gave him extra motivation to face his disability and change his life.
According to Conade, his dedication and commitment made him go down in the history of adapted sports when in 2023, during the Parapan American Games in Santiago, he won the silver medal, the first for Mexico in this discipline within this continental event.
“For me, para badminton means everything, I feel that I owe it a lot and I am happy to see that it is making constant progress. Eight years ago I fell in love with the sport and I began to stand out, to know myself, to feel an extra desire that I cannot explain,” shared the athlete with cerebral palsy.
