Fiorentina is in mourning… The Florentine club has announced the death of its president, Rocco B. Commisso, a central figure in the recent history of the Viola. At the head of the club for 7 years, the Italian-American businessman had had a profound impact on Fiorentina through his commitment, his closeness to the supporters and his vision focused on the future. Under his presidency, the club regained sporting and structural stability, notably reaching two Conference League finals as well as an Italian Cup final, while investing massively in training and infrastructure, symbolized by Viola Park, which has become a pillar of the Florentine project.
In an emotional statement, the Commisso family and Fiorentina paid tribute to a unanimously respected leader: “After a long period of care, our beloved president has left us. For his family, he was an example and a guide; for Fiorentina, a constant, human and passionate presence”.
