Nylander Injury: Maple Leafs Concern

When the Toronto Maple Leafs conducted a preparatory training for Saturday’s game against the Winnipeg Jets (Viaplay, 01:00) on Friday, William Nylander was not on the ice.

There are many indications that he will not come to the game, and the team’s coach Craig Berube could not say whether Nylander would be out for a long time.

– Right now we don’t know how long he will be missing, said Berube. He had an injury recently and then we felt that it wouldn’t be as long-lasting as it was. We’ll simply have to see how he feels over the next few days.

Nylander, who missed six games in January with a lower-body injury, had a goal and an assist last game against the Vegas Golden Knights before leaving at the end of the first period.

The Maple Leafs announce that Nylander is being evaluated for a lower-body injury, but they have not said whether it is the same injury as before.

Nylander tops the Maple Leafs’ internal scoring with 48 points (17+31) in 37 games this season.

John Tavares, Oliver Ekman-Larsson, Matthew Knies and Justin Woll were also missing from Friday’s training.
