Dro Fernández is leaving Barcelona. The 18-year-old young man, graduated from The Masiawill leave the club in January, in a deal that will yield the Catalans just six million euros, precisely the value of his release clause. It was the athlete himself who paid this amount to change clubs this month.
Dro was seen as one of the team’s pearls and was a permanent member of the main team this season, but he was dissatisfied with his playing time – 150 minutes spread over 5 games and also assisted in the Champions League against Olympiakos – and decided to leave in this transfer window.
The midfielder faces strong competition in the squad and has already informed Flick and Deck about his decision this Friday morning. The fate is yet to be decided, but the Spanish press guarantees that the athlete has received several proposals from major European clubs, which will then pay him the value of the release clause.
However, the Barça has not yet given up and will hold a meeting in the coming days with the player, his family and agent to assess the situation and see if it is still possible to keep the athlete, who last played a month and a half ago.
