Gustav Lindgren joins BK Häcken from English League One. And with a natural killer instinct in the penalty area, the 24-year-old has his dream title ready for him.

For the past year, Gustav Lindgren has played in Peterborough United FC in English League One. He went there from Degerfors, where he impressed with his scoring ability – and where BK Häcken’s football manager caught the eye of the striker.
– We have followed Gustav’s journey for a long time and now it was finally time to tie him to us, says football manager Martin Ericsson. He is a humble and hard-working footballer who had a great physical development in England, in addition to the goal danger that he showed, among other things, during his time in Degerfors.
Good place to develop
Gustav Lindgren himself describes himself as a deep attacking player who loves to score goals. And who chooses BK Häcken because, as he says, it feels like a good match.
– I think that my ambition matches the club’s and that BK Häcken’s identity is very similar to mine as a footballer. The image I got of Bollklubben is that it is a very familiar club that takes care of its players, while at the same time it is a very good platform to develop on.
Just development is an overarching word for the last year, which was thus spent in England. An instructive period both on and off the pitch, says Gustav Lindgren.
– From there I take a lot with me, have become stronger mentally and grown as a person. I also think that I have developed my leadership skills, both in a football context and in general. But I won’t miss the English coffee!
“Have high expectations”
Football manager Martin Ericsson sees in Gustav Lindgren a player who will make a difference going forward, and particularly highlights his qualities in and around the penalty area.
– Gustav’s speed and intensity, together with a natural killer instinct in the penalty area, we see as clear strengths in him and is something that we believe will fit in very well with us. We warmly welcome him to the Ball Club.
Just in time for the pre-season training to start on January 19, Gustav Lindgren is on site at Hisingen. Which creates the conditions to put the relationships and the chemistry needed for a good interaction on the field, he says. And Lindgren is clear about what the supporters can expect from him.
– They must have high expectations. I know what I’m capable of and feel very confident – I know this will be good. So expect your goals!
