The 2026 Baltic Indoor Archery Championship took place in the athletics arena of the Olympic Center “Ventspils”. Athletes from Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia, representing 22 sports clubs, took part in the competition.
Ventspils was represented in the competition by five athletes of the archery sports club “Odysseys” under the leadership of coach Viktors Avsyuks, who showed very good results in both individual and team competitions.
In the Olympic hoop class, Ventspils athletes in the team competition – Kants, Sergejevs and Mārtiņš Zvejs – won 3rd place. Individually, Mārtiņš Zvejs won 6th place and fulfilled the standard of sports master, while Oliver Juškas, Katrīna Sorokas and Amanda Zaļmeža shared 9th place.
Sanita Lasmane from Ventspils took the high 4th place in the compact circle class, but in the MIX team competition together with Dubkevičs she won a silver medal, taking 2nd place.
Athletes competed individually, in teams and MIX teams in four bow classes – recursive bow (Olympic), compact bow, unequipped bow and long bow class.
Athletes from Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania became Baltic champions in various disciplines. In the Olympic hoop class, the team competition for men was won by the Estonian national team (Mihkelsons, Nurmsalu, Rists), the Latvian national team (Gārde, Matvejeva, Runiškova) and the Latvian duet Gārde and Sergejev in the MIX teams. Individual victories were won by Rists (Estonia) for men and Lilientale (Estonia) for women.
Estonian athletes triumphed in the compact circle class in both the team and MIX team competitions, while Jētma (Estonia) won for men and Antanaite-Garškiene (Lithuania) for women individually. Račkauskas (Lithuania) was the individual best in the unequipped bow class.
Latvian athletes dominated the longbow class – the men’s team consisting of Bernštein, Voronin and Vugula won, as did the MIX team Vugule and Vugul. Vuguls and Vugule became individual champions.
