First period
UltimAir Hijs Hokij lost the CEHL cracker at home on Sunday evening against leader EHC Bären Neuwied. In a well-filled Uithof, the Germans started the game extremely fiercely, which Hijs Hokij visibly had difficulty with. Neuwied turned that strong start into a 0-2 lead after the first period.
Second period
After the break, Hijs Hokij showed a different face. Raymond van der Schuit brought back the tension with the 1-2, after which Jay de Ruiter scored the equalizer a few minutes later. However, the team from The Hague could not enjoy this for long, as Neuwied struck again and took the lead again: 2-3.
Third period
In the final period, Hijs Hokij had to search hard for the equalizer. The chances were there, but the finishing was lacking. On the other hand, Neuwied remained efficient and made it 2-4. With the goalie from The Hague off to the side for an extra attacker, the empty-net goal also fell in the final minute, making the final score 2-5.
