PSMS Medan Wins: Eko Purdjianto’s Debut Victory | OK Medan

DELI SERDANG | OK Medan

PSMS Medan successfully picked up full points when they hosted Adhyaksa FC in Week 15 of the Pegadaian Championship 2025/2026 season. Playing at the North Sumatra Main Stadium, Sunday (11/1/2026), the team nicknamed The Killer narrowly won with a score of 1-0.

This victory felt special because it was the sweet debut of PSMS Medan’s new coach, Eko Purdjianto, who had just been appointed to replace Kas Hartadi. Playing in front of thousands of fanatical supporters, PSMS immediately appeared to be pressing from the first minute.

Relying on five new players brought in in the transfer window in early January 2026, PSMS Medan’s game looks more lively, especially through attacks from the wings. The high intensity demonstrated by PSMS overwhelmed the Adhyaksa FC defense line.

As a result, a quick goal was created in the 8th minute. Ari Maring successfully got his name on the scoreboard after taking advantage of Rudiyana’s clever pass. His measured shot to the right side of the goal could not be blocked by the Adhyaksa FC goalkeeper, Jefri Wibowo.

Shocked by PSMS Medan’s quick goal, Adhyaksa FC tried to get up and increase the intensity of the attack. In fact, the PSMS goal guarded by Reky Rahayu was threatened after an error in anticipating a high pass.

Buying and selling attacks continued until the end of the first half. PSMS almost doubled their lead through Adlin Cahaya’s long-range shot, which forced Jefri Wibowo to fall and save his goal.

Before halftime, the match was marred by a violent clash between Sadam Hi Tenang and Galuh Aryanata. The medical team and ambulance immediately entered the field, but fortunately the two players did not suffer serious injuries.

Entering the second half, Adhyaksa FC took full initiative in the game. The midfield commanded by Makan Konate troubled PSMS Medan’s defense several times. Luckily, Reky Rahayu appeared solid and made a number of crucial saves.

Tension in the match heated up when players from both teams were involved in an argument. However, the situation was successfully controlled by referee Yoko Suprianto and officials from both teams.

The PSMS Medan coach tried to freshen up the attack line by bringing in Rifal Lastori, but until the final whistle sounded, the score remained at 1-0 for the hosts to win.

Adhyaksa FC coach, Ade Suhendra, admitted he was disappointed with the result.

“Our adaptation at the start of the match was not good, so in the end we conceded a quick goal,” he said after the match.

Even though they lost, Ade still expressed his appreciation to PSMS Medan for being able to survive well under pressure throughout the second half.

Meanwhile, PSMS Medan coach Eko Purdjianto was grateful for his first win with his new team.

“Thank God, this is a tough match because we have to win to close the gap on points with the teams above,” he said.

Eko also praised the players for being able to carry out the game scheme even though they had only had three training sessions together.
